Beach Safety
We love the beach and we want you to love our beaches too. Most of the beaches in and around Looe do not have a lifeguard service so it’s important that you know how to stay safe. Here are some quick tips.
Safety Instructions from the RNLI

Beach flags & signs
There may be signs on the beach giving you important information. The beach flags and signs are explained on the RNLI website.
Check the tide times
Low tide is a great time for exploring the beach but the tide can come in very quickly. Always check the tide times so they don’t surprise you. Click here to see tide times
Dog friendly
Some of the beaches in and around Looe are dog friendly year round but others have restrictions in place. Take a look at dog friendly beaches here.
Keep our beaches clean
Please remember to take all of your rubbish away with you. This will help protect our wonderful beaches and keep them clean and safe for everyone to enjoy.
