About

Sunflowers Barn

Characterful and spacious barn in a quiet rural spot with lovely countryside views, not far from the south coast.

Very reasonable monthly rates available between 1st Nov and 31st March - particularly suit anyone moving to the area and awaiting completion.

‘Sunflowers’ can easily sleep 5 (or 6) in its 3 bedrooms.  A lightweight full-size single divan bed can be added to the double bedroom for a young child - or for a group of 5 single people (or a second divan for a group of 6).

The front door leads into a large beamed living area with an open view over unspoilt countryside. Outside is a lawn with a picnic table where you can sit and enjoy the same view.   This room has comfortable leather settees, fast wi-fi, TV/DVD player and music centre at one end and a modern, well-equipped kitchen and dining area at the other. Also on the ground floor are the large family bathroom and twin bedroom.

On the upper floor is the master bedroom with a king-size bed, en-suite with shower and a door opening onto an upper level patio with outside furniture and a lawned garden.  There is also a spacious single bedroom on this floor.

‘Sunflowers’ is an  ideal spot for a 'get-away-from-it-all' break for those who want a peaceful retreat in which to work, study, write, paint or just relax.

Or for family groups, there’s plenty of space for the kids to run around, both indoors and outside – with several beaches and plenty of tourist attractions not far away.

Parking space is available two cars.

The Area

Sunflowers Barn is situated in a quiet part of Cornwall in the small hamlet of Trelowia. There are coastal walks and many lovely beaches nearby, including Seaton Beach, just a 3.5-mile drive or 50 mins walk, mainly through spectacular woodland.  The steep hill on your return will keep you fit!

There’s a well-stocked farm shop and café (which does excellent breakfasts and cream teas) at Treddinick,  just ¾ of a mile down the lane, and a large Morrisons supermarket 15 mins drive away in Liskeard.  The Copley Arms, in nearby Hessenford, has a good reputation for food.

The quaint, bustling harbour town of Looe is just 4 miles away, with a myriad of shops, pubs & cafes and lovely sandy beach.  Quieter beaches nearby include expansive Whitsand Bay and stunning Lantic Bay.

Though tucked away in a deeply rural location, the Barn is just ¾ of a mile from the main road, making it easy to travel to many local tourist attractions.  These include several historic houses, The Lost Gardens of Heligan (under an hour) and The Eden Project  (30 mins).

For younger guests, there's a monkey sanctuary, large go-track and a long zip wire over an unused quarry nearby.

Golf, fishing (on lakes or at sea), canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding and surf school are also available locally.
