OPEN ALL YEAR

WEEKLY RATES: 7TH NIGHT FREE.  FORTNIGHLTY RATES: 3 NIGHTS FREE.

Surrounded by rolling hills, wooded valleys and fields of grazing sheep and cows, 'Sunflowers' is an ideal spot for a 'get-away-from-it-all' break for those looking for a peaceful retreat, or for family groups, there’s plenty of space for the kids to run around, both indoors and outside – with several lovely beaches, woodland walks and plenty of tourist attractions not far away.

We welcome people needing accommodation while working in the area - particularly those wishing to take advantage of our  discounts for longer stays.

'Sunflowers' can sleep up to 5 (or possibly 6) in its three bedrooms.  One or two lightweight full-size single divan beds can be added when required.

The front door leads into a large beamed living area with an open view over unspoilt countryside. Outside is a lawn with a picnic table where you can sit and enjoy the same view.   This room has comfortable leather settees, fast wi-fi, 32" TV, DVD player and music centre at one end and a modern, well-equipped kitchen and dining area at the other. Just four steps lead up to the large family bathroom and twin bedroom.

On the upper floor is the master bedroom with a king-size bed, en-suite with shower and a door opening onto an upper level patio with outside furniture and a lawned garden.  There is also a spacious single bedroom on this floor.  All bedrooms have TV.

A Zed bed (suitable for a child), a cot with bedding, high chair and retractable stair stair gate are all available if needed.

Parking space is available for two cars.

Local Area

'Sunflowers' is situated in a quiet part of Cornwall in the small hamlet of Trelowia, a deeply rural location surrounded by farmland and rolling hills. There are gorgeous woodland and coastal walks and many lovely beaches nearby.

Seaton Beach is just a 12 minute drive (3½ miles) drive down a beautiful valley - or a 50 minute walk through spectacular woodland and riverside nature reserve. The steep hill on your return will keep you fit!

The picturesque, bustling harbour town of Looe is just 4.6 miles away, with a myriad of shops, pubs, cafes and a lovely sandy beach. From there, you can take a boat trip along the coast to the pretty fishing village of Polperro.

Both Seaton and Looe beaches are popular and ideal for small children. There are many quieter beaches nearby including stunningly beautiful Lantic Bay and expansive, spectacular Whitsand Bay.

Treddinick farm shop and café (which does excellent breakfasts and cream teas) is just ¾ of a mile down the lane. There it joins the main road, giving easy access to many local tourist attractions, including The Eden Project (40 mins) and The Lost Gardens of Heligan ( just under one hour).

The Copley Arms, in nearby Hessenford, has a good reputation for food - and plenty of outdoor seating.

For younger guests, there's a monkey sanctuary, large go-kart track and a long zip wire over an unused quarry nearby.

There’s a popular surf school at Whitsand Bay and golf, fishing (on lakes or at sea), canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding are also available locally.

Exeter Airport is just over an hour's drive and Newquay Airport 50 minutes. The Brittany Ferries port at Plymouth is around 40 minutes..

The Owner

Jules moved to South Trelowia with her partner early in September 2019 and took over the holiday letting of ‘Sunflowers’, which is just across the courtyard from their own barn. She enjoys meeting visitors and is usually on hand to sort out any problems or answer any queries.
