The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022

In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. Get involved in celebrating Her Majesty’s historic reign in the run up to the Platinum Jubilee Central Weekend which takes place from 2nd to 5th June.

Looe are celebrating this historic occasion with a host of Jubilee themed events throughout the bank holiday weekend, and in the lead up to the event itself. So make sure you keep an eye on this page for all the lastest events to get involved in. 

Looe Town Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2 – 5 June

As Looe town goes back in time to the 50’s, it will become transformed with its unique look proudly decorated in red, white and blue bunting and 50’s style signage, to provide an ambience of the 50’s with everyone, residents, businesses and visitors alike, dressed in 50’s clothing from Thursday 2^nd June, until Sunday 5^th June. 

Whilst local children collect their Queen’s Platinum Commemorative Coin from Book Start Bear, at Looe Community Hub and library, to a relaxing family evening’s entertainment on The Wooldown .

There will be an array of 50’s style shop window displays and coordinated 50’s style activities, with judging of the best fancy dress. With Looe’s Purely Farm Shop and Deli Cake Baking competition being held at the Portbyhan Hotel and CrossFit Kernow Beach Games on the Beach, will provide plenty of entertainment and laughter to watch the mascots battle it out, with an opportunity to have fun and enter your four-legged furry friend in The Dog House Cornwall, Jubilee Dog Show, to be held at The Quayside. There are so many fabulous prizes to be won, from weekend breaks, food vouchers, hampers, trophies, and FREE doggie treats sponsored by Cornish Horizons and Toad Hall Cottages providing free dog bowls. Looe Platinum Celebrations promise plenty of amazing prizes, excitement, and a family fun day out.
